It is our job to make the most of what we are given. Check all the diets, exercises that you have done previously and never worked. What can you learn from it?

FIGHT: I will tell you what FIGHT means to me in my journey. This week I start with the letter F and what it stands for.
Fight against the desires of your heart and to control your mind.
For though we walk in the flesh we do not war according to the flesh. When we start thinking about ways to improve our life then the battle starts. It is a battle, the devil doesn’t want anything that is good for you, so what does happen is he will bring any lie that you can think about. You will start having those headaches that suddenly appear, sleep that wants to overcome you and programs that are so tempting that you must watch it otherwise the world will end, these are ways to stop you from accomplishing what you want to do.
How do you fight this?
You fight with the word of God and every time you think you can’t do it then get the word of God out and spend time in it. Not the chocolate ice cream or cake that only makes us feel good for an hour hence why you go back to it to get more. Jesus says I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never be hungry and he who believes in Me shall never be thirst. John 6:35b NKJV
We never fight alone, we have resources that our Father has given us. We also have a weapon to fight with, for the weapons of our warfare are not physical but they are mighty before God for pulling down strongholds. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. In Christ, I have contentment to what I have. Contentment is not financially wealthy only but to me it is everything. Even with one pence, I can be happy. I can live in every situation well I have from a war zone, to peaceful well that is a debateful.
Yes now let’s get to the easy part. Below are the things I have done to make it work for me.
First things: I had to PUT this on your calendar, diary or phone or an alarm. If I want this workout to work, then I needed to take it seriously enough to write it down in my calendar.
I tried different workouts, signed up at the gym. Went in the evening and morning to see what works best for me mentally and physically.
Did classes at the beginning that worked for me, I’m a structured person and when I started, didn’t know what to do but that didn’t make me quit and even when I was gaining weight instead of losing it. I did the best I could and showed up everyday for myself. The classes taught me different things and it meant I interacted with different people and the trainers and this also helps me to know if I was doing it correctly or not. You never want to injure yourself during a workout because that will be very bad but not an end of the world. It will certainly put a stop to the workout routine.
Listen to what you hear and also listen to what your body is saying to you. Trainers push you to your limit and also they know what they are doing if you find the right one. Right one that cares about you and how your form is. Those squart that you think you do correctly but then they come and correct you, the plank you think you do correctly they also correct you and tell you no you should do this way otherwise you hurt your knee. Those are the trainers I’m talking about. I signed up and paid for a whole year with the discount they did. This made me go, I paid for it and didn’t want to not go. That will be bad and money wasted. So I went for a whole year to the gym without fail unless I was on holiday away from the country. So after the year I have learned enough and wanted to do my own thing.
Cancelled the membership and decided to do it myself at home. Everyone is different, some of my friends still go to the gym because they needed that interaction to stay motivated. What I needed is Jesus because through Him I have the Holy Spirit who keeps me motivated. I chose home because it gave me more time to spend with God as I don’t have to travel to the gym and back. That time meant I could also have breakfast before work. I was given an hour back but that is my choice and you have to find what works best for you.
Before you start at home, think about the reasons for you doing the workout. You need to have the passion enough to stay motivated enough to start the workout at home. I had two reasons, one it gave me my time back that I spent running to the gym and back. And secondly I wanted to save some money for other things. I got my finances in order and unfortunately gym was something I chose over cinema for entertainment choices to drop out.
So when I started the exercise from home instead, I got some dumbbells and set a calendar for what workout I will be doing each day of the week and the time. I planned the exercise each week to keep me motivated. Looked at videos on YouTube, not just looking at it but working through it with them because that will be foolish to just look at.
My goodness so many videos, and lots of choice but that didn’t put me off. One thing I never did was quit at the beginning of the video because I don’t like it. I will always finish the video and then never look at it again because it wasn’t challenging or too easy. You need to complete the video for you to know if it was a good work out. I did this for six month until I finally found one that was just right and she was amazing and inspirational. She cared about her viewers and the content she gave was the best, she did the workout with you and she was real on set. I still follow her.
The Practical concept here is, if you are working out at home. When you choose a video for the first time, choose one that is 15 minutes and see if you can finish it and then next time choose 20 or 30 minutes. BUT finish the video even if you don’t like the person or whatever reason that comes to mind, silence it and carry on. This is easier said than done, you have to practice it and not give in to the flesh for it only becomes stronger if you do. If you decide to quit then that is time wasted to look for another video and gives you an excuse to quit and walk away before you even start the journey.

Father, thank You for giving us choices. I pray that our choice will be aligned to Your will and Kingdom focus. In the Name of Jesus, Amen.
