My fellow believers, when it seems as though you are facing nothing but difficulties, see it as an invaluable opportunity to experience the greatest joy that you can! James (Jacob) 1:2 TPT
My Nugget today is Joy in the midst of everything. How can we be joyful when everything's falling apart and when we are in a cave all alone?
During this season, reading the Bible has taught me to be intentional about everything. When I feel sad, in grief because of a loss of a friends family member or someone I know passed away I have to intentionally run to God in prayer instead of my usually pushing Him away. And He brings that comfort that I need at the time, sending someone my way to give me counsel.
Teaching me to run to the throne first before the phone.
When everything is fine and nothing to worry about, instead of looking the other way or carry on as normal. This is the time to give Him thanks and praise because He alone deserves that praise.
Joy is a Choice Purposefully Made and it becomes a habit. Joy is not a feeling but an action that we are required to do.
To have the Joy that James says we should be very thankful and that requires:
Gratitude: the quality of being thankful; readiness to show appreciation for and to return kindness (Google definition)
Normal people like us are in the entire bible that face all things and have a reason to be thankful but complaining we see how that ends. Complaining leads us further away from the purpose in life that we are destined to have.
The attitude of gratitude is so important in our everyday life that it not only brings a smile to our Father's face but to everyone around us and that includes ourselves..
"Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you." "This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it." "And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful."
Our Joy can not be based on the circumstances around us but on God’s Grace. The Grace of God which is an unmerited favor gives us all the energy we need each day.
So when the joy we have that is not a feeling is purely based on receiving God’s Grace daily then it does not matter the circumstance we face because that only shows us who we are in Christ and we can confidently choose how we face the day.
We can choose to be joyful or fretting about the situations around us at the time
We can choose to spend beyond our means or save for the future
We can choose envy or gratitude
We can choose real foods or ones that will delight in our taste buds
We can choose to sleep over one more hour of channel surfing or internet browsing.
All these choices we make are through the help of our Lord Jesus, so we should consider it pure joy because through Him and the help of the Holy Spirit we can make the right choice.
How do we stay joyful? We purposely choose to stay in Christ, abide in Him and let the Holy Spirit guide us through the obstacles we are facing at the time.
and if you look for it as for silver and search for it as for hidden treasure, then you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God. For the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding. Proverbs 2: 4 - 6 NIV
Thank You for stopping by, pray that the Holy Spirit will guide us through the day and give us that sense of His presence daily as you get closer to Him. In Jesus Name.

Have a wonderful day.
