“Nugget of Information”

The number of our days make 70 years,
or maybe 80 years if we are strong enough.
Yet, even in the best years of our lives,
we have trouble and pain.
Our lives quickly pass, and we hurry towards death.
Psalms 90:10 EASY

Choices – Free or busy:

We are now into the festive season and it feels like it was only yesterday, the year started. This year, is a year to remember of the things we have missed and what we have taken for granted.

Getting an advent calendar or doing a tradition for the month of December, it is a joyful season to celebrate Jesus, and to celebrate life. I have a tradition that I started last year not sure if it counts as a tradition if I have only done it once but I am definitely doing it this year.

Writing three things that I am grateful for each day leading to the end of the year.  The catch is not to repeat anything. It did get me thinking each day from my coffee in the morning to braiding my hair.  At the end of the day I look back to see if any repeat and it was fun to put my thinking hats on because after twenty days I must confess I did start thinking. We have so many things to be thankful for. Every little thing matters to God.

Our choice is to reflect on the months past and make sure the chains that are anchored to Christ Jesus are secure and to process the season with our heart. Knowing that our strength is not our will power but God’s power through us.

To be in Christ means being truthful to ourselves and how we are feeling is so important at this time because when we bottle it all up, we are bound to explode at the wrong time “on a passby that gets the splash of water”.

Busyness is easy to do,  but making the free time is intentional and has to be done in advance. Looking at our calender or schedules and saying no for the things that matters to us will be a choice.

Spend time with those you love. One of these days you will say either, ‘I wish I had’, or ‘I’m glad I did.’ ~Zig Ziglar

Either way, I choose to spend time with them and look at the past as a stepping stone to the new adventure ahead.

Why I choose to be free?

To be free means lots of opportunities and knowing what matters to us. It also helps us to grow in faith.

Freedom means

Spending time with God because He is great:

The biggest bonus is getting time to spend with God. Quality time, even if it is five minutes.

For You are great, and do wondrous things; You alone are God. Psalms 86:10 NKJV

Life is short :

whereas you do not know what will  happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away. James 4:14 NKJV

I get so busy and often forget that life is like a smoke and I don’t have any idea what my life will be like tomorrow. So why not enjoy the moment, the job will get someone else “if I was to never show up” in a heartbeat. Now COVID 19 has made some of us stay at home and not see anyone for over nine months, some have lost loved ones. Crazy year, who knew?

Every moment counts. Thank You Jesus for each opportunity You give me to see my loved ones, please help me to always be grateful for those precious moments. Amen.

Thank you for stopping by. Have a wonderful day and remember ” It is because of freedom that Christ has set us free not partially but completely and wonderfully free.” This is good news.
