For whatever was written in former days was written for our instruction, that through endurance and through the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope. Romans 15:4 ESV

The nugget for the the day is REST R - review the day both in the morning and evening by taking time to reflect on what God did and what He will do (expectancy) If God said to write something down, then it must be good for us. Remember [with awe and gratitude] the wonderful things which He has done, His amazing deeds and the judgments uttered by His mouth [on His enemies, as in Egypt], Psalms 105:5 AMP Writing it down means we remember the goodness of God and we can also share it with others. It also brings encouragement and hope I always find that my heart swells up when I read my old journal of prayers and thanks. Or sometimes it brings back memories: oh yes I did ask for that wow God You listen. Imagine if Paul did not write how he met Jesus. The Bible is our example of why we should write things down. This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. Joshua 1:8 ESV Imagine if Moses had not written anything down anything and said I will remember. We read it and that tells us who He is. I like tangible evidence. In my time of rest, I will write down what You have done for me. Lord Help me to always remember to write it down Not just for myself but to give You glory and praise. Exercise the mind: Meditating on the word day and night. The world says empty your mind, Jesus says if you empty your mind and not fill it up with the things of God then we call the trouble in not just one but seven. Matthew 12:43-45. Think about it. God says meditate on my word day and night. Do not let it depart from you. Thank You Father that Your word is a Lamp to my feet and a light to my path, may I always recognise and look to You in Jesus name. Amen Sleep: The first thing we experience when God created us was to rest, when Adam was created on the six day, God rested on the seven day and that says a lot about it. I have always found it fascinating the way God has built our body to heal itself naturally. Which is why it is nice to journal the thoughts in our head before bed, thinking too much can lead to sleepless nights. It is while we sleep that the body starts to work. If we can't get any sleep then it is always a good idea to get some help. It easier said than done, but seeking advice is better than a sleepless night. Time and Thanks: Time waits for no one and it is something everyone has in common. Twenty-four hours, use it wisely and it will be your friend. He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also He has put eternity in their hearts, except that no one can find out the work that God does from beginning to end. Ecclesiastes 3:11 NKJV Take time to say thanks to the people around you. It is a season to be grateful and no excuse is better than “It's Christmas, and I am in the Christmas mood and want to say thank you for this year." In everything give thanks to our God. Thank You Father, for this year. It had its ups and downs, I will say possibly more downs than ever. But what I have come to know is that You have been there through it all. I have seen Your faithfulness in my life and my loved loves. Some are not here anymore, and that is Your will. God help me to remember that Your ways are not my ways and Your thoughts are not mine. Forgive me for trying to manipulate You, for doing what I want forgetting that You know best and see everything. Let me be Humble to remember and give thanks for everything, In Your Son’s name. Amen.
