Lost Love

I sleep, but my my heart is awake
I hear a voice, is it the voice of my love

A knock on the door and I was awake
The voice of him saying,
Open, it is me and it is cold outside
My head is covered with rain

Had to come and see you
For I could not sleep
As I lean on the door
You can’t come in

I have taken off my clothes
How can I put it back on again?
I have washed my feet
How can I defile them?

Let us not awake the sleeping dogs
With my fingers on the handles of the lock
I opened the door
But he had turned away and was gone

My heart leaped when the phone rang
My heart beats when he speaks
I sought him, but could not find him
I called but he gave me no answer
Thank You for stopping by.

Inspired by the Ragtag Daily prompt

The Lord Jesus will remain forever
His throne from generation to generation
The circle of love is full of everything that life briings

May the light in you shine bright always
May the Name of our God be glorify
Have a restful weekend
In the Name of Jesus
Amen
