'For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.' Ephesians 6:12 NIV
Grace and peace to you from our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Wow, another week has started and I am delighted you can drop by.
Welcome to my vault, hope you had a good weekend? For me?…
It is another Monday, there is a desirable treasure that when found at a great price, you will hide it and then sell all you have just so you can have it. Is it worth it? Absolutely!
Come let us sit and talk. This is a surprise, my weekend was out partying at a house party. It was meant to be lunch, arrived at 12 and ended up being also a dinner. It was just great to sit and enjoy lunch and dinner with friends.
Sunday was amazing, why? It was the first time we sang together. We were allowed to sing in love and to worship God and Saviour of our Lord Jesus Christ in Psalms and Hymns.
Thought provoking sermon: Talked about the environment and knowing that God loves the environment. Going back to the beginning of Genesis 1. The simplicity of this chapter allows everyone that opens it to understand what the writer wants us to know. As far as the entire Bible is concerned, we must assume that God is there and He wants us to find Him, know Him and serve Him.
We cannot prove that He exists or not but we can hold on to the basic belief that God wants us to know Him and have faith in Him. Hebrews 11.
One of my favourite verse is John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word and the word was with God, and the Word was God. He has a heart that feels, He has a mind that thinks and can speak His thoughts. He makes decisions and sticks to them. What an awesome God with personality. He is definitely not an it, without Him nothing was made. He was not created but the Creator God is a He and is a very personal God.
That was my take on the weekend. Relaxing and enjoying the present moment.
And also being aware of everything around me making sure I have my full armour on, sometimes I forget and the result can be fatal but I do have a merciful God who heals and corrects and guides.
Something I have come to learn about the armour of God: while you look at wearing it remember that it can be sabotaged by ourselves or the forces around us.
Cambriridge definition of Sabotage: Deliberately destroy, damage, or obstruct (something), especially for political or military advantage.
A way to be aware is Listening skills:
By forming a habit
- Knowing what to do which means being aware
- Knowing how to do it meaning skill
- Knowing why to do it meaning motivation
Why push the boat out and do things differently?
Why not carry on as normal?
All journeys need to have a start and an end. And to get to the end starts with a single step but that step has to be taken in the right direction.
Fortunately for us we have so much research and commentators have given us compass bearing and maps.
This can lead to head bury
Sabotage can also come from self as well as around us
An Example of self – procrastination
James 4:14 – “How do you know what your life will be like tomorrow? Your life is like the morning fog – it’s here a little while, then it gone”
Well, I can safely say I sometimes take my hands outside the boat or bury my head in the map. What good does it do? I don’t have long in this world It is not my home Yet I forget and be a fool Don't want to be one, for one day The fog will disappear like a thief in the night When I least expect it There will be no place to run So I will lean not on my own understanding But listen with the two ears Focus on the Lord daily Roll up my sleeves and do something with the talents given Not brag about tomorrow And above all remember the Lord in days of my youth When I have the strength to do it and willing to do it
Be bless knowing that:
'So also Christ was offered once for all time as a sacrifice to take away the sins of many people. He will come again, not to deal with our sins, but to bring salvation to all who are eagerly waiting for him.' Hebrews 9:28 NLT
Can I encourage you to enjoy the ride and to not be distracted easily.
Thank you again for stopping by it means a lot to me. Pray you have a wonderful week 🙂 We cannot control what happens around us, but we can control our responses. Be bless and know that the Lord loves you ©Hannah M Vandi. And I also pray that this verse refreshes you this week: 'However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace. ' Acts 20:24 NIV
