Sing to the Lord, all the earth; Proclaim the good news of His Salvation from day to day Delcare His glory among the nations, His wonders among all peoples. For the Lord is great and greatly to be praised He is also to be feared above all gods 1 Chronicles 16 : 23-25 NKJV
Hi and welcome to my vault :), hope you had a good weekend. It is always a pleasure that you stopped by: I love to just sit and listen and watch.
I love to see growth. When I plant it is so amazing to see them grow into what they are meant to be. Think of how God feels and sees us when we grow into what He has made us to be. We are all His workmanship created in Christ Jesus for good works Just like I don’t see the root but just the end product God sees the root and knows how it will grow and shape He also knows that weeds grows alongside Guess what? Our root and foundation are stronger than the weeds Be bless and know that God loves you so much Jesus reigns overall
I was standing in the vault and this is what caught my attention. We eat a lot of different foods, and it is good to know a little about them: I like potatoes but in the UK they are not vegetable, they are class as starchy foods
FUN FACTS: The Potato Became the First Vegetable Grown in Space with Help from Wisconsin
Starchy foods: Potatoes, bread, rice, pasta and other starchy carbohydrate:
One third of the food we eat each day should be bread, rice, pasta, potatoes and other starchy foods.
Although they can be rather tasteless and bland they are a good source of energy and the main source of a range of essential nutrients including fibre, protein, Calcium, Iron and Vitamins B.
They are not considered as one of your five portions of fruits and vegetables in the UK
They were first grown as food crops in South America more than 7000 years ago and can be found throughout America, from Canada to Southern Chile.
It was introduced to Europe from America in the second half of the 16 century by the Spanish.
Today they are staple food in many parts of the world and an integral part of much of the world’s food supply.
Also known for its content of being high in starch and a large proportion of this is in the amylopectin which is easy to digest. Therefore potatoes have a high Glycaemic Index (GI)
GI is a measure of how quickly a carbohydrate-containing food raises the blood sugar level when that food is eaten by itself.
GI by itself is not a good indicator of whether food is healthy.
Potatoes are also rich in Vitamin C, antioxidants, Vitamin B6 and Potassium. Most of these nutrients and the fibre are the skin. Apart from water, potatoes consist mainly of starch and also contain some fibre, protein and almost no fat.
Potatoes are prepared in many different ways: skin-on or peeled, whole or cut up, with seasonings or without. The only requirement involves cooking to swell the starch granules.
Different methods of cooking potatoes affect the relative amounts of nutrients which would affect the components by driving off more or less water and also by adding components such as the extra fats during frying.
When boiled or baked, potatoes have relatively the same nutrients as raw potatoes but significantly different in chips and crisps because it is fried in oil and that makes the potatoes absorb fat and reduce the water content.
They are used in a variety of processed food due to low cost
Potatoes Starch: Used as binding agent in some ingredients such cakes mixtures, biscuit
Potatoes are also used to brew alcoholic beverages such as vodka
They are found in a variety of foods and one of the least allergenic foods tested.
Also originated in South America but now popular in many countries are sweet by nature which is from an enzyme that breaks down their starch into maltose, a sugar that is sweeter than table sugar. They contain a large amount of beta carotene, minerals and plant oestrogens.
“Beta Carotene is converted to Vitamin A in the body”
Please note that they are nuggets of information!
Thank you again for stopping by it means a lot to me. Pray you have a wonderful week 🙂 We cannot control what happens around us, but we can control our responses. And I also pray that this verse refreshes you this week: 'However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace.
