“Treasure Trove of Information”

Watch, stand fast in the faith,
be brave, be strong.
Let all that you do be done with Love

1 Corinthians 16:13-14

Season Greetings!

Hi and welcome to my vault :), hope you had a good weekend. It is always a pleasure that you stopped by: I love to just sit and listen and watch.

Welcome, I really do hope you had a good weekend. It is December, and it will be Christmas soon. We don’t need an excuse to be kind or give or be thankful. It is always nice when people think of you and give you gifts.

My weekend, well let me see..

On Saturday, God’s Big Story.

It was about Acts of the Apostle and the Letters of Paul in one setting.

As I listen and absorb He starts to connects the Bible it one BIG GOD’s Story and we get to be part of it:

Lots of aha moments:

“The Tower of Babel” Genesis 11

When men decided to build the tower and take control and God scattered them. Out of fear they wanted to build a tower away from land so they could escape the storms of life.

'So the Lord scattered them from there over all the earth, and they stopped building the city. That is why it was called Babel —because there the Lord confused the language of the whole world. From there the Lord scattered them over the face of the whole earth. ' Genesis 11:8-9

Then in Acts through the Holy Spirit we are restored by allowing us to understand the language of God that connects us together. We see the Grace of God through the Holy Spirit, barriers are broken.

'All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them. Now there were staying in Jerusalem God-fearing Jews from every nation under heaven. When they heard this sound, a crowd came together in bewilderment, because each one heard their own language being spoken. ' Acts 2:4-6
The gospel heals division
The gospel points us to Jesus.
It brings the most unlikely people together.
It makes you speak truth with love
Rebuking when needed as Paul did to Peter

The battle they faced as the first Christians were real but it shows
The importance of table fellowship with each other - combats cultural bias and superiority
Also leads to humility
Broadens our appreciation of different perspectives
Displays the power of the cross
And we become a witness to the world. It reminded me of the gospel of John.

'By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” '
John 13:35

We also looked at the letters of Paul, I mean a whistle-stop

In the end I was asked which of the letters do I like or go to.

My first answer was Ephesians, then oh I also like a section in 1 Corinthians 13 is one of my favourite and it reminds me of who God is. If I love God then I will be patient and have the qualities He has given me. They are all gifts but the greatest of all love…. I love LOVE and this is one of my favourites to go to especially when the mind starts to run away or run its own marathon it gives me a different perspective of people. It grounds me, stops me in my track.

Oh yes another aha moments was:

Romans and Habakuk making the connection between the two. I encourage you to read it and I can never get enough of the Bible, I love sitting down and listening to it. Just when I am about to leave, I am reminded of something else.

I was challenged at the end, what does my life tell people
We preach the gospel everyday
We correct
We encourage
We also rebuke
The Gospel changes everything
Life is a Gospel
Be yourself
Be imitators of Christ

Yes life, it is the season that we show who Christ is and everyday should be a day we show who Christ is.
He doesn’t come out only on holidays
He is not Santa
He is the Saviour of the world
He is the Messiah
He is the King of kings
He is the peace of the world
He is what the world needs

Well, thank you for listening to me, come with me. That was a nice tour into my Saturday, let us enter the vault and see what we can find.

Oh see, this is perfect. Spices! I love spices. I am fascinated by spices. The holiday is here and many fasinating smells will fill our nostrils. I mean we notice things more in the holidays. The season of Christmas parties and enjoying time with your family or friends.

Spices are parts or extracts of dried seeds, fruits, roots or bark. Spices are different from herbs. Unlike spices, herbs are leaves, flowers, or stems from plants

Spices have also been used for centuries for flavouring, colouring, and preserving food and they are key to our food having those unique tastes in many regional dishes. Another fact is that they also have a long history as remedies – traditional health remedies as well as religious rituals, cosmetics, or perfume production.

What makes them spicy? How can they be used?

The flavours of spices are mainly due to the aromatic oils they contain. They are also available in several forms: fresh, whole dried, or pre-ground dried.

Most of the spices are dried and ground into powder for convenience making them have the longest shelf life and are cheaper on a per-serving basis.

Ginger in fresh form is more flavorful than when dried but fresh spices are expensive and have a shorter shelf life.

Turmeric on the other side is not available fresh or whole and often must be purchased on ground form

Fennel or mustard seeds are often used both whole and in powder form.

Fun facts: India contributes 75% of the global spice production

Oh dear, look around. It is time for me to say goodbye but... hope to see you again.
Thank you again for stopping by it means a lot to me. Good bye.

Pray you have a wonderful week 🙂
We cannot control what happens around us,
but we can control our responses.
Be bless and know that the Lord loves you
Lots of Love

And I also pray that this verse refreshes you this week:
I consider my life worth nothing to me;
my only aim is to finish the race and
complete the task the Lord Jesus has given
me—the task of testifying to the
good news of God’s grace. '
Acts 20:24 NIV
