The Voyage of the week!

Offer the sacrifices of righteousness,
And put your trust in the LORD
Psalms 4:5

The voyage this week is about Jephthah –

God always chooses what man might think is not worth it

One cannot help but look at the question that Jephthah poses to Israel as they came for help.

Why have you come to me now that we are in distress?

May not God ever say this to us for we seldom come to him until the need arises
May my heart seek You Lord first thing in the morning
May I always run to You in thanksgiving and praise
May I cry when needed

Lord let me seek You
Lord let me be attached to the body
Lord let me delight in You always
Lord let me focus on the things above

Judges 11 is interesting: Now I had to pause and laugh, for how many times we speak without thinking. The simple fact is never let your mouth cause you sin.

Why should you? when….

The journey of life is not simple
The journey of life involves trust
The journey of life moves not in a straight line
It is never what you except
Who do I trust?

Why make a vow?
Why cause your mouth to sin?
Why look around?
For in the multitude of dreams
And many words, there is also vanity
Yes, who do I trust?

Even the wise can sometimes do foolish things
It is far more important to be on God’s side
Than try and persuade Him to do your bidding
For everything in life is vanity
But the fear of the Lord is wisdom

  1. Most of us only remember God in times of distress but the Lord is merciful to us even then. My prayer is that we will seek the Lord even in the good times because when things are going great that is when the enemy will attack us by surprise. Thanks for this reminder.
