As I come to the end of Jepthah’s story 

He is a man of faith and in the Hall of the faith filled people in Hebrews 11:32

His story is unique yet the people of Israel are still God’s people 

He was chosen 
We are chosen 
We are God’s people 
People might discount you 
But God sees the value in you and everyone chosen

So when Jepthah met his daughter and was downhearted yet he did not break his vow

I have given my word:
Jesus, You are my Lord and Saviour 
I declare that You are my only focus
I declare that I am part of a body and not alone
I am God’s child 
I walk by faith not by sight

and I cannot go back: 
For the sake of being prosecuted 
For the sake of avoiding being mocked
Even a little way

Why should I? What would that say?
My faith was false 
I will be nailing You Lord on 
the cross over and over again
and denying that you never rose again
It would make no sense 

Your word is truth and will never fail
The pages in life will come to an end 
The pages with ink will fade 
But Your word will never fade 

As I reflect: Well I am sure I will have broken the vow 
Maybe not, maybe not! 
But I thank God for His Mercy and Love daily
The Grace to walk daily with You

Who knows the heart of men!
