'if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves,
and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways,
then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. 'II Chronicles 7:14
Happy Friday and Happy Fool’s Day!
Judges: what is life without God?
They did evil in the sight of God ….
A sentence that sends shivers to the core
of my being on every turn of the page!
A sentence that makes me look and think…
Judging does not help…
What makes me different…
Why sin …
The biggest stumbling block!
The illusion becomes a reality
Everyone else to be blame
Sin the course of our downfall
All our hard work becomes profitless
Sin arrives at the time of harvest
It robs us from what we work hard to gain
It never satisfy the soul of men
All we want is more of what we don’t have
All we do is covets
The grass is never greener on the other side
Let not fall into the trap of sin
Limitless, prideful and never measured
Never let prayer be the last resort
Prayer is the first and most important
Talk we can have in our lives
Our mouth is to repent and confess
For our Father is about relationship
He knows and sees and calls and He is Love
Sin the stumble block that Jesus already moved away
'Then the Lord said to him,
“Peace be with you; do not fear, you shall not die.”
So Gideon built an altar there to the Lord, and called it
The- Lord - Is -Peace.
To this day it is still in Ophrah of the Abiezrites.'
In a world of chaos
In a world of disarray
Peace I give to you says Jesus
My peace I leave with you
So the journey continues
Seeing Gideon in a new light the spotlight is on him
Fear is a natural response to the unknown
Yet our loving Father says do not be afraid
Peace be with you
Put on the shoes of the gospel of peace
For war is at hand
Preparation is half the battle
So I say to myself
Let us always put on the whole armour of God
For our fight is not of the world
Our peace we have so we can prepare for war
'Some of you may say, ‘We are free to do anything that we want to do!’ But not everything is good for you to do. You may say, ‘We are free to do anything!’ But not everything helps you to be strong as a believer . Do not think about the things that will help you. Instead, each of you should think about what will help other people. '
1 Corinthians 10:23-24 EASY
Oh give thanks to the Lord!
Call upon His Name
Make known His deeds among everyone
Yes we are free to do anything
But not everything is good without You Lord
He is the Lord our God
His judgements are true
He remembers all His covenants
Saying to Abram, I will make you a great nation
I will bless you
And make your name great
And you shall be a blessing
I will bless those who bless you
And I will curse him who curses you
And in you all families of the earth will be blessed
For He remembered His Holy promise
And Abraham His servant
He brought His people with joy
His chosen ones with gladness
For the earth is the Lord’s and all its fullness
We are His chosen one in Christ Jesus
So let us be imitators of Christ
Glorifying the Father and obeying His words
Praise the Lord!
For His mercy endures forever
Who can utter the mighty works of the Lord?
Who can declare all His praise?
Let us come before the Lord,
Holy and pleasing in His sight
Repent and confess to one another
For the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand
Blessed are those who hunger and
thirst for righteousness
For they shall be filled
Holy, Holy is our Lord God Almighty
Who was, and is and is to come
Let the earth be filled with His glory
“The Last enemy that will be destroyed is death”1 Corinthians 15:26
O Lord my God,
how majestic is Your Name
How great are You my Lord
How wonderful it is to
serve our Lord Jesus Christ
You have made Him dominion
over the works of Your Hands
O Lord our God
How excellent is Your
Name in all the earth
I will praise Your Name
With my whole heart
Hi and welcome to the vault, another week has started. Hope you had a good weekend.
My weekend was cold, yes it was next to freezing my bones on Sunday
But I did go to church and fellowship. As I listen to the sermon this week, I reflect and ponder on the topic that all christians know about.
See we started two Sundays ago, “Sermon on the Mount” and this Sunday was on Salt and Light (Matthew 5:13-16)
It is challenging as I seek to find God…
What is in us that seeks the truth? Is it our mind or heart?
These two are different and will get a different response
Do I serve to please men or do I serve to bring God glory?
My mind sees with the eyes which can be deceiving
Yes I ponder, my mind leans on me
If I put too much salt then
It means I am looking with my eyes
And my own understanding and that
Can be an unpleasant taste
Yes salt, a little of it makes a big difference to our palette
I looked at few reasons why salt:
Salt is essential for life and saltness is a basic human taste. It is also an important food preservation.
Think about it!
Light – a phrase that stood out as I listened.
In a room with the light shinning brightly already another light does not make the room any brighter but blends in.
In a dark room and light turns up makes a massive difference. Food for taught.
Thanks again for joining me on my weekend tour, follow me, let us see what we can find today in the vault. Oh look, something at the top of the shelf. Living within our means:
It is increasingly becoming a culture of normal to have credit yet it is also stressful to keep up with the repayments.
For someone that works in finance, I don’t like debt.
What will we say is living within our means?
When monthly costs and expenses are less than your income which is the amount you earn after taxes are taken out.
Staying within your means – means staying out of debt and save
How do you know if you are staying within your means?
First: Keep a record of where money goes during a typical month. Every single thing spent, from snacks, to travel. This will help you to see where the money goes.
In the world of technology, a mobile app, a spreadsheet or paper and pen is a good place to start and stay on top of our finances called BUDGET
Allow yourself to spend wisely:
By categorising the expenses before the income into needs, wants and saving/reducing debts helps a great deal.
Needs (50% of the salary) – what are our needs? Unavoidable costs that help to keep you and loved ones safe, warm and fed + any tax you owe (if self employed)
Wants (30% of the salary) – not absolutely essential i.e. meals out, cinema, new clothes, holidays
Savings/reducing debts – if the money is not enough then choose reducing debts to clear first. Have savings for emergencies, short-term goals (house debt), long-term plans (retirement) all helps
For every decision made, keep these in mind needs, wants, savings/reducing when it comes to money
Also a note, everyplace and everywhere has different needs, it might be more than 50% goes to your needs then adjust to fit your lifestyle but have the three in mind always.
At the end of the month add up all the expenses
If your total adds up to less than your income then you are living within your means. Otherwise adjust.
Research have shown that financial wellbeing can have a positive effect on both physical and mental health
'From now on my eyes will be open and my ears will pay attention to the prayers offered in this place, because I have chosen this temple and declared it holy so that my name may be there forever. My eyes and my heart will always be there. '2 Chronicles 7:15-16
We are His chosen people
And when God says I am God
If I hold you in my Hand
Noone can take you away from His power
When He does something
Nobody can change
I LOVE the Lord, because He has heard
My voice and my supplications
The Lord my God, has turn His attention to me
Therefore I will call upon His Name as long as I live
For He has made a city
A new Holy city and New Jerusalem
And He will dwell in the New city with His bride
Therefore the strong people will glorify Your Name
The city of the terrible nation will fear You
For You have been a strength to the poor
A refuge from the storm
A shade from the heat
Pains of death surrounded me
And the news of sickness, and pain of loved ones
Have laid hold on me
As I walk through the valley of shadows of death
I will call upon the Name of the Lord
The one and only begotten of the Father
Full of Grace and truth
The Lord of Hosts will make a road
In the wilderness
And rivers in the deserts
Gracious is the Lord and righteous is He
Yes our God is merciful
For He has delivered my soul from death
My eyes from tears
And my feet from falling
I will walk with the Lord my God
For in this mountain
The Lord of Host will make a way for all His people
He will make a feast for us all
We will be joyful in the Lord
And He will destroy the mountain
He will swallow up death forever
He will wipe away tears from all our faces
This is the Lord our God
We waited for Him
We will be glad and rejoice in His salvation
I love the LORD, for He is God
